Inspiration-Carnations

Much like the blossoming of Wheat Ridge as an important city in the metro area, the signature piece will be three “carnations” blooming as one enters or exits the city. With the largest reaching 24’ high, the other two at 20’ and 16’tall. This contemporary take on carnations will give a sense of “you have arrived” acting as a gateway piece to Wheat Ridge!

Bloom will be arranged in a dynamic way, so that the sculptures can be seen not only from I-70, but also be appreciated closer to Wadsworth as well, yet pedestrians will be able to interact with “bloom” by exploring as they pass by or freely move around the pieces, finding new perspectives while watching the shadows that cascade from the forms as the sun moves across the sky.

The grouping of Sculptures will also include uplighting for nighttime illumination and display.
